Daily announcements for the middle school are available below.  Please click on the appropriate day of the week.  We do not archive announcements longer than 5 days.

Parents can also receive daily announcements via email.  Please contact Mrs. Wyse and let her know your student's name and grade.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12:15-1:00, June 4-27. This is for students going into grades 7 - 12. Register no later than May 31. Limited spots available.

 

Congratulations to 8th graders Olivia Patterson and Jenna Mahnke for being only 2 of 39 students across Northwest Ohio selected to attend CampMed at the University of Toledo. Selection to this full scholarship program is designed to encourage careers in science and medicine and is a great honor. After announcements, Jenna and Olivia should report to the Media Center for a photo.

 

Attention 8th graders:  Student Council applications are due by the end of the day today. If you are interested in being a part of Student Council next year please turn in your applications by 3pm today in the main office.

 

All 8th grade boys interested in playing high school soccer this fall should attend a brief meeting after school this Tuesday, May 21st in the media center at the high school.  You will be given information regarding the summer schedule.

 

8th Grade Volleyball Players that would like to do summer lifting at Fusion Health & Fitness need to stop at Fusion to sign up and make payment by Friday, May 24th to secure a spot.

 

Any 8th grade boy or girl interested in Golf next year should sign up in the office.  There will be a parent meeting in June at the high school.  The coach will be emailing each golfer with information.

 

Forms and money for Youth Football Camp are due on Friday, May 24th to Mr. Ruffer or Mr. Dave Walker.  The youth football camp will be held on Monday, June 3rd and Tuesday, June 4th from 8 am to 11 am and is open to all incoming 3rd through 8th graders for the 2019 season.  

 

The Archbold boys basketball coaches will again hold a basketball camp this summer.  Any 5th or 6th grade boy interested in the camp should pick up a registration form in the office.

 

There will be a meeting during home base on Tuesday morning, May 21 for any 8th grade girl interested in playing tennis next fall.

 

No Birthday today:

7th Grade Parents: There will be an informational meeting for our 2020 8th grade trip to Washington DC on Thursday, May 23 at 6PM in the small gym. The purpose of the meeting will be to provide information about next year's trip, distribute registration information, and answer any questions you may have. It is recommended that each student considering going have at least one parent in attendance.

 

Please make sure your child's lunch account balance is paid up and continues to be paid up through the rest of the school year. If there is any extra money in their account at the end of the school year, it will carry over to next year.

 


Due to the addition of a make up day, the last day of school is now Thursday, May 30.

This Sunday from 12pm-2pm is Archbold Wrestling family day at Putt Putt Golf & Games. Laser Tag, Golf, Go Karts, and Batting Cages will be FREE for Archbold Wrestlers and their family members. If you plan to attend, email Coach Becher (bbecher@archboldschools.org) by Thursday with the number of people attending from your family.

The 5th grade kickball championship will be played during the 5th grade lunch hour today as the “Smackers” will take on the “fighting Squirrels”.  Bring a quarter and enjoy some championship kickball today!

 

There will be a prime time kickball game this morning immediately after announcements as the “Jalopeno’s” will take on “Homeland” security for the 7th/8th grade championship this morning.  Both teams each have 1 loss so the winner today will play the teachers tomorrow morning for the World Championship.  Bring a quarter and enjoy some championship kickball today!

 

After attendance and lunch count has been taken there will be a short meeting for 6th and 7th graders interested in cross country.  The meeting will be in Mr. Lambert’s room, room # 312

 

To finish out the end of the year activities dress up and enjoy Hawaiian Thursday.  Enjoy the Last Few Days of the Schoolyear!!

 

Girls trying-out for the High School Volleyball Team next season, there will be a Player Meeting at 6pm and Parent Meeting at 8pm on Monday, June 3rd in the High School Gym. 

 

Any current 5th grader interested in learning about cross country should pick up a form, in the office, for the Youth Cross Country Camp.  The camp will be August 6th and 7th.

PARENTS INFO

 

Since Northwest State’s  original three STEM camps filled so quickly they have decided to add a few more camp opportunities. 

 

These camps are Robotics camps where campers will build and program Lego EV3 Robots and ANGLeS Camp (Apollo Next Giant Leap Student Challenge) which includes:  Learning to fly drones and deliver the lunar module on a target along with Designing, building and programming a lunar lander (EV3 robot) to maneuver a payload and rock samples around the moon.

 

These camps are open to students who are currently in grades 4 – 8.  The BASIC level camps are being offered June 10 – 13 at Napoleon High School or July 22 – 25 at NWSCC.  Completed forms can be sent in or emailed to NWSCC.  The ANGLeS camp is being offered July 8 – 12. Get forms soon in the Main Office if you’re interested in attending.
