Students- this week we will be doing a pledge drive to support the Fulton County Heart Radiothon. For many years, the Heart Radio Thon has supported heart programs and equipment in the county. Each student is being asked to collect 4 quarter pledges from members of your familiar, friends, or neighbors. (That’s just $1 per student). If we meet our goal of 80% participation, we will be able to donate over $300 and celebrate by having a song played in honor of our students during the day on Thursday. As part of the celebration we pledge to take breaks throughout the day for school-wide physical activities. Join the fun while raising money for a great cause!  Students and staff are encouraged to wear athletic clothing on Thursday, preferably Valentine’s Day colors.

School Counselor Announcement ~ Happy Tuesaday of National School Counseling Week. Today s encouraging thought is about  being your personal best.
Each of you was created with your own set of talents and abilities to share with  others around you.  Have you ever really thought about what you have to offer to others in your class, on your team, in your neighborhood and even in your school?  When you decide to embrace and use your talents beyond yourself, imagine the difference you can make in your corner of the world.
As 6× Super Bowl champion head coach Bill Belichick said,  Talent sets the floor, Character sets the ceiling.   How far will your talents and character take you?

Happy “White Out” Wednesday of National School Counseling Week. Today’s message is about lessons shared.

A wise woman once said, “Sharing is a wonderful thing, especially for those you've shared with.”

When we have gained lessons through experiences and situations, many times we hold them close to us. Sometimes these lessons are private and should remain confidential. However there are times when a lesson you learned, if shared, can help another person.   Some examples include  learning about a more effective way to study for class tests, discovering a better way to balance school and home challenges or  finding ways to be a better friend – share it.

As a school and community, we grow stronger together!    As Irish poet Oscar Wilde once said“The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself.”  What lesson learned can you share with someone you know?

Happy Friday! Today is the final day of National School Counseling Week, “ NSCW19.”  The Archbold Schools counseling staff, like everyone in our schools, is here to make a difference in your life. We want to help you learn wise lessons and choices that help you to achieve your goals and become all that you dream of being.

As Dr. Seuss says,  Be sure when you step, step with care and great tact. And remember that life's A Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed!

It is my privilege  to help you with your “Great Balancing Act” during your middle school journey.  I am available and ready to help and guide you along the way. Thanks for your school spirit and pride this week!  Good luck to all of the winter athletes as you finish your season in tournaments this weekend.
